February, the month of balance and sacred dualities.

Hi Tribe, I hope you are all well?

I have been home in Tasmania for a week and I’m still very much in that settling energy. My first week has been hectic – reconnecting with family, starting work, meeting new people and engaging in new experiences. I’ve had moments this week where I feel as if a part of me is struggling to catch up to all the changes. I am grateful for the long weekend here, where my intuition is urging me to slow down and allow time for my nervous system to regulate, allow time for me to process the last couple of weeks. It’s a weekend of giving myself grace and space.

These last two days, I’ve found myself plagued by a question – how do I continue my spiritual development here? How do I ensure that I stay on the path of learning and growth and hold tight to my spirituality? I don’t really have any answers yet. I’m trying to form new routines with the basics – meditation, journalling, energy management, gratitude. And so with the intention of connecting with my spiritual self, this morning I got my heart bowl out from under the bed, sat on the floor and listened to her sing.

I also dug my cards out from the drawer and was guided to do a February reading for the collective. For some, January was a month of transformation, it was a month of change. January energy spoke of being the creator of your future – placing the pieces where you will, trusting that it will bring about opportunities for success and letting go of the things that were holding you back.

The Hermit

The first card that came up for February was The Hermit. For some reason, I love and connect with the energy of this card. I think it’s very relevant to my own situation at the moment. It’s a reminder to find peace and connection within yourself, instead of seeking it from external sources. The Hermit isn’t about withdrawing from others and from the world around you. It is more about going within, and connecting with your own compass and inner guide. The Hermit card reminds us of the importance of taking time for our own self-care, and of taking the time to disconnect from the external chaos and busyness of the world around you in order to connect with your inner voice.

If you are feeling a little lost, maybe the changes in the month of January have left you feeling a little unstable and unsure on your feet, maybe like me, you just need time to catch up? Connect with the energy of The Hermit and make time for being alone, time for going within. Your inner light, your soul is always there to support and to guide you. It knows the way, but sometimes you have to disconnect from the world for a moment, in order to find it.

6 of Pentacles

The 6 of Pentacles is a card that reminds us of the balance between give and take. It reminds us to be conscious of how and what we give to others and how and what we receive from others. It’s a card that brings you back into the heart. Giving to others makes you feel good, it makes you feel abundant. The more you give, the more you receive from the Universe and from the world around you. Think of it like a circle of 8 – it represents, balance, infinity and interconnectedness.

Be aware of where your time and energy is going. Where and to whom are you gifting them to? For me, receiving is harder than giving. I find it difficult to believe that people would want to invest their time and energy in me. I also find it difficult to trust people’s intentions – I find it difficult to believe that people are giving from the heart, rather than from expectation. They are limiting beliefs that prevent me from receiving from others. The 6 of Pentacles comes into February calling us to look at whether we are open to both giving and receiving. Is there a cause that’s close to your heart? Something that you’re passionate about? February is the time to engage in it. It’s a call to action – come back to the heart, invest your time and energy into giving and receiving, teaching and learning, accepting and offering and the flow of abundance will be more prevalent in your life.

King of Swords

The King of Swords is associated with wisdom, intelligence and truthful communication. He appears in February to pass on a message – ensure the decisions you are making are made out of a combination of wisdom, emotional and spiritual energy. Act with clarity, rather than jump in blind. You have all the resources at your disposal; your intelligence, your experience, your emotional connection and your spiritual energy, to help you find your way. You need a balance of all, to give your self a chance of succeeding.

Your experiences are important. The positive ones carry messages of your values, of who you love and who loves you. They carry your happiness and your hope. The negative…I know they are painful, and some have hurt us to the core. I know that we still carry them around in our bodies, stored in the atoms and molecules, in our blood and muscles, in our nerves and systems that make us who we are. But they are also sources of our wisdom and evidence of our strength, resilience and capacity. Use them – both positive and negative – to find your direction, to help you make decisions that are based on wisdom and balanced with emotional and spiritual energy.

Is there a place or a person in your life that you need to communicate truthfully with? Are you holding back your truth because you are afraid of hurting them? Or you are afraid of their reaction? It’s important not to allow emotion to drive your communication – do not approach your partner while you’re still angry, do not try and engage your work colleague while you are still working through hurt feelings – instead give yourself time, give yourself space to find your centre and your clarity, to understand your own emotional reactions and why they’ve been triggered, and then communicate from a place of logic, from your truth, from the wisdom you’ve gathered from your experiences.

To draw it all together…February is a month of balance. January energy has been hectic with change and transformation, but February is a time to bring some balance into your life. Disconnect with the busyness and the chaos of the world and take time for self-care, time to go within and listen to your inner compass, to your inner guide. There you will find peace, you will find your inner guide. This will illuminate the way forward for you. Connect with the sacred duality of giving and receiving. Take stock of who and what you are investing your time and energy in. Do they make you feel good? Do they bring you back to your heart? Do they come around in full circle and invest in you in a positive way? Do they bring a feeling of abundance into your life? Remember to be open to both giving and receiving.

When making any decisions, come back to the wisdom you’ve gained from your own experiences and balance wisdom, emotional energy and spiritual energy to allow you to move forward with clarity. The balance of wisdom and connection will help you to make that decision you’ve been wrestling with. Once made, comes the need for clear and truthful communication – be honest and authentic and remember to use wisdom and logic when you communicate with others. Understand your emotional reactions and why they have occurred, before you charge in. Ask yourself “why have I reacted that way?” Go within for understanding, then communicate from a place of wisdom.

Always remember, you are seen, you are heard, you are valued and you are not alone!
